About Me

The Knowledge Doc, Dr. Eric Berg, created the Berg Institute of Health & Wellness in Seminole, Florida, in 1997. He is currently the CEO of the Institute. The Institute's mission is to educate individuals about their bodies' requirements, nutritional inadequacies, and general wellness.

Dr Berg empowers patients to take control of their health and wellness and reach their optimal weight reduction objectives by using a ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting.

​

Dr Berg began a long period of nutritional research after earning his chiropractic degree in 1988. His enthusiasm was stoked by a desire to comprehend his eating and health issues.

​

Nowadays, Dr Eric Berg instructs individuals on a variety of subjects of health. He specializes in analyzing complicated health issues of various types, connecting symptoms to underlying causes, and developing nutritional solutions for recovery. His long-term eating strategy, which includes the healthy keto diet and intermittent fasting, is now generally regarded as a game-changer in achieving amazing levels of well-being.

Sharing His Expertise

Dr Berg eventually transitioned from full-time chiropractic work to teaching his methods to other medical professionals after experiencing a dramatic transformation in his health based on new insights he gained from further research into the science of nutrition. He even briefly held the position of associate professor at Howard University.

Based on fresh research, his 2006 book The 7 Principles of Fat Burning was revised in 2019 as The Healthy Keto Diet, a top seller on Amazon.

Dr. Eric Berg also launched a YouTube channel in 2008, where he continues to offer his opinions on healthy eating habits and a wide range of other health-related subjects. His channel has amassed over 6,000 videos, 18 million followers, and 100 million monthly views. To teach Keto Coaches worldwide, he has developed a course that examines intermittent fasting and keto.

​

In San Diego, California, Shreveport, Louisiana, and Alexandria, Virginia, Dr Eric Berg, worked as a chiropractor in private practice. Since 1997, he has also been the Berg Institute of Health & Wellness CEO in Seminole, Florida.

Academic Background

​

Dr Eric Berg studied pre-medicine at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside from 1983 to 1985 before enrolling in Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. He graduated with his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1988. He also served in the Army Reserve, receiving X-ray technology training.

The International Scoliosis Research Center, the Southern California College of Chiropractic, the National-Lincoln School of Postgraduate Education, and the Louisiana Union of Chiropractic, Risk Management, and Motor Vehicle Collision Injuries, among others, provided additional advanced and speciality academic training.

Professional Experience and Skills

In addition to becoming board-certified in Virginia, California, and Louisiana, Dr Eric Berg passed the National Board of Chiropractic Examination, parts I, II, and III. He also earned the Certificate of Proficiency in Chiropractic X-ray and certifications in microscopy, live blood cell analysis, and the diagnostic interpretation of neuro-selective current perception threshold.

Dr. Eric Berg has devoted a significant amount of his resources—including time, money, and extensive public outreach—to charitable organizations that share his passion for wellness and healing during his many years as a well-known expert in the science of nutrition. Along with his wife Karen, the Bergs generously give back to the public by educating people about fitness and diets nationally and worldwide.

Achievements

Dr Eric Berg, provided chiropractic therapy to more than 40,000 patients in Alexandria, Virginia, throughout his 30-year career. Also, he delivered internal and external seminars for government organizations, including the FBI, National Institute of Science, Library of Congress, and Federal Communication Commission, among others.

​

Dr Berg organized yearly Keto Health Summits, most notably in Washington, DC, between 2017 and 2019 (when the epidemic halted such major public meetings). The number of doctors, dietitians, healthcare professionals, and keto dieters sharing extraordinary well-being stories and rapid weight reduction quickly increased to 1,000 yearly. Several nationally recognized keto diet and metabolic health experts spoke at the conferences.

In addition to his publications, Dr Berg's work has appeared in several well-known periodicals and on numerous TV and radio shows, such as Channel 9 CBS Nightly News, Channel 8 News, and others.

More than 2,500 healthcare professionals have received training from Dr Berg in his approaches, strategies, and discoveries. He has been a key voice in bringing attention to the potential benefits of intermittent fasting and ketogenic diets for enhancing health and well-being.

Personal Hobbies and Interests

​

Dr. Eric Berg enthusiasm for health permeates many aspects of his life, including his pursuits outside the Berg Institute. It's become a pastime for him; in his own words, "I am continuously exploring for fundamental causes why individuals develop ailments." His struggle to overcome the negative consequences of excessive work and eating led to his enthusiasm.

By the time he was 32, his new knowledge of diet had restored his vitality and given him the capacity to keep up with the demanding schedules of his wife Karen and their three energetic kids.

​

One of Eric's most valuable yet scarce resources is free time. Playing his custom-built guitar and collaborating with Karen to produce fresh, appealing dishes with a healthy twist provide him inspiration and relaxation.


Dr Eric Berg currently resides on a picturesque farm undertaking extensive research on the soil's potential for producing nutrient-dense food and animals. Karen concurs that the ground was the source of everything in the kitchen.
